We checked out of our hotel and headed to West Virginia State Penitentiary. We were able to book our tour in advance. The price for the tour was fair. Dress comfortably. When you approach the building, it’s a bit shocking. Imagine driving through a typical cookie cutter neighborhood, then BOOM ! Enormous castle looking prison right in the middle of the block.
